Services| COUNSELING AND PSYCHOTHERAPY | SPIRITUAL DIRECTION | LIFE/WORK PLANNING | GROUP HELP | COUNSELING AND PSYCHOTHERAPYIt is not uncommon for a person to find herself or himself in a difficult place in life. Relationships flounder, life brings overwhelming challenges, or we find ourselves faced with crisis, loss of hope or even a sense of despair. At such critical points in life, creating a safe space for self-reflection and discovery can be the best gift we can give to ourselves. A therapeutic relationship is one of trust and healing. Counseling may be a tool for making decisions about a difficult situation or issue in one’s life. A series of focused, time limited sessions may be just what is needed to work through a particular challenge, gain a deeper sense of self-awareness, and find resolution of a problem or issue. Psychotherapy is a helpful process for gaining insight into one’s inner life. An individual might focus on physical, emotional, vocational, and spiritual dimensions of life as he or she reflects on childhood memories, journeys more deeply into relationships, and explores the significance of inner experiences in a longer, unhurried, and more complex series of unfolding sessions. SPIRITUAL DIRECTIONSpiritual Direction provides a safe place to share your experiences of God. You can become more aware of who God is for you, and you might discover or deepen your ways of prayer. As you make choices that are life-giving for you and others, spiritual direction can give you time to consider the implications of those choices. Some people receive spiritual direction throughout their lifetime, usually monthly. Others come for a few sessions to work on a specific issue, or just call when they feel a need to meet.
